Phil might be experiencing a little dead arm at this point because he quickly ran out of gas. However, Marcus Thames came through in what could’ve been a really bad loss to end the home stand and head out west for 7 games before the All Star break. Coming off the DL Marcus hit the game winner in the 10th to earn the pie. A strange game with former Yankee José Molina tagging out 3 runners at home and the sun contributing to an inside the park home run for Gardy. A much needed win to end the home stand 3-3 before heading to Oakland. Good win.

In honor of the Boss’ 80th birthday, the Yankees brought out the World Series trophies from his tenure as owner (1977-1978, 1996, 1998-2000 and 2009). Nice touch by the always classy Yankees organization. Happy Birthday George!
